Pacuare Lodge Yoga Retreat Pacuare Lodge - Photo Gallery

September 5 - 10, 2010

The 4-day/5-night retreat is ideal for those seeking a getaway to relax and rebalance the body, mind and spirit. The retreat is hosted at Pacuare Lodge located in the heart of a pristine rainforest and along one of the “Top Five Most Wild & Scenic Rivers” in the world. It is an impressive eco-lodge that has captured the essence of jungle comfort combined with quality service by all local staff in an off-the-beaten path, nature immersed setting.

Activities included in the retreat are daily yoga, a rainforest hike to a refreshing waterfall and a thrilling zipline tour. There is free time to receive a massage or other healing treatment. Guests return home feeling rejuvenated and inspired, with a clearer mind, and a new found connection to a positive outlook on where they are.

The Pacuare Lodge overlooks the flowing river and is surrounded by the lush rainforest. It exudes a sense of tranquility and gives a feel of all worries and stress having floated away. The retreat includes a stay in a Garden View Bungalow. Each is spacious with a palm-thatched roof, canopy king bed, futon couch, terrace, large bathroom with solar heated water and rainforest view. In the evening the bungalows are lit by lanterns giving a cozy feel (no electricity). For more information about the lodge please visit their website at www.pacuarelodge.com.

As flight arrivals are often in the evening and departures in the early mornings, the first and last nights are spent in the town of Escazu near San Jose at a charming B&B. If you will be traveling in Costa Rica before or after the retreat and do not wish to stay at the B&B for one or both nights, let us know and we will deduct it from the package rate.

Meals

All meals are included in the retreat package starting with breakfast on Monday and ending with breakfast on Friday. The cuisine is Costa Rican fusion, delectable, primarily organic and vegetarian options are available.

The Yoga

All levels of yoga experience are welcome as sessions are tailored to the varying levels in the group. Modifications of the postures are offered for those with less experience and for those more advanced. The yoga space at Pacuare Lodge is a beautiful rancho (typical Costa Rican pavilion) with a wooden floor and situated under a rainforest canopy. We practice in the temperate open air allowing you to tune into the rhythms of Mother Nature. There is a 1.15-hour morning practice and 1.5-hour afternoon session including asana practice (postures), meditation, and breath-work to create a calm mind and an open and flexible body. The morning yoga sessions are more active and yang and the afternoon sessions are more tranquil and restorative. Contact us to learn about the yoga retreat guide.
